Wedding Tips From David Jeffrey Florist

*Know Your Budget
Since 1982 we have designed hundreds of events, from large extravaganzas to small intimate weddings. The number one problem that causes the most stress in planning a wedding is budget  Before you begin the planning process you need to know how your tastes (what you want) translates into costs. Therefore, every bride and groom should have the budget discussion.
Without this first step you are setting yourself up for disappointment by wanting things that may not be attainable.
During a recent consultation with a bride and groom it was clear they had not established a budget.
They booked the venue, chose 12 attendants, flower girl, ring bearer and wanted to invite approximately 250 guests only to find they could not afford  the music they hoped for, the flowers they dreamed of and the menu they planned. Needless to say they had to rethink their plans and to redirect their budget.
Avoid this disappointment by determining your budget then prioritize how it’s to be spent.

*Know Your Vendors:
You must have confidence in the vendors you hire for your wedding day, if you have any doubts about their competence then move on.
Get referrals from local resources, friends and family, don't rely solely on social media sites.
Good old fashion word of mouth is still your most effective way to find reliable and talented wedding vendors. Speaking from 33 years of experience the majority of our weddings are referrals from past clients, venues, caterers, bridal consultants and of course Westlake Magazine.

*Bridal Coordinator
If your venue doesn’t provide a coordinator and if budget allows, hire a wedding coordinator. A competent coordinator will plan the timeline for your day and is there to bring all the vendors together as a team to make your event flow perfectly.
We were very fortunate to work with one of the very best in the business,Tobey Dodge, of The Wedding Connection, and she still does consulting work.

We first fell in love with Nadia Bjorlin back in 2005 when she glamorized the cover of Westlake Magazine’s 13th Anniversary issue. The then 25 year old singer, model and actress had waltzed her way into Hollywood and captured our hearts as the audience favorite, Chloe Lane in Days of our Lives. Now, ten years later, we are so pleased to catch up with this natural beauty and welcome her back as the “bride to be” for this year’s wedding edition.
